Fang Island - ‘Daisy’

NYC fivepiece Fang Island describe their music as ‘everyone high-fiving everyone’. They’re pretty much bang on with that comparison, to be fair to them and their stadium-fit brand of progressive indie.
They’re signed to Sargent House in the US (Russian Circles, Native, Tera Melos), who are genuinely one of the best labels around. Their self-titled LP, out last month, illustrates the fine musicianship which has earnt the bunch a decent following in the US. I’m thinking of the guitar lines here specifically, though the drums and bass seem equally as tight.
The record is altogether an anthemic jaunt, offering as much energy as what’s in them red coloured Smarties. Honestly, the whole thing is bouncing off the walls. But once you’re in the right mood, there’s not much which beats it.
