The Strange Boys - ‘Friday In Paris’
‘Be Brave’ is the second LP from Austin, TX based garage folk cohort The Strange Boys, released this week through Rough Trade. Swiftly following the release of their early 2009 debut ‘The Strange Boys and Girls Club’, the band have drafted in three other pals (two of which are ex-Mika Miko) and made a record which expands on the psychadelic lo-fi sound of their first effort whilst rounding off some of the edges.

So the stones are in place for the band to quickly gather momentum following a number of dates with the likes of Daniel Johnston and Black Lips, ahead of monster of a tour stretch running up to the end of April. This includes a show a show at Nation of Shopkeepers which I’ll no doubt get to. Get your hands on the new record, meanwhile, which is a really good listen all round.
