Xiu Xiu - ‘Gray Death’
Everyone’s favourite experimental art-rock trio, Xiu Xiu (shoe-shoe), add to the long list of records which are well worth getting excited over during 2010. ‘Dear God, I Hate Myself’ (yep, that’s Xiu Xiu alright) lands towards the end of February, followed by a quick sweep of some of the most intimate UK venues before touring their native United States with the support of tUnE-yArDs amongst others.
Personally I can’t wait to see if they can live up to what they created with 2004 LP ‘Fabulous Muscles’, which was one of the records of the last decade as far as I’m concerned. Judging by the calibre of the above opener, I don’t think too many will be disappointed by what Jamie Stewart and co. have come up with.
