Always The Runner - ‘Miles’
Okay, so far it’s proving pretty tough to find any sort of bio for this band. Since the release of debut ‘An August Golf’ back in 2005, they’ve lost a member, lost a website domain and gone on hiatus. Not like that’s going to stop me from blogging about them or anything though. This is a really good record.
I’m a sucker for all things sounding remotely Kinsella-esque. You should have gathered this by now. Opener ‘Miles’, above, is no exception to this with its sweet melody and sparse vocals. From then on it’s mostly instrumental, I’ll go ahead and assume that the group are fans of Caspian, The Album Leaf and such like awesome bands. The latter of which, I got tickets for their European tour yesterday. Stoked.
