Comparisons to countrymen Biffy Clyro and Idlewild are easily made throughout The Xcerts’ debut. Released in March through Xtra Mile Recordings, ‘In The Cold Wind We Smile’ boasts the explosive guitars, impassioned vocals and infectious hooks of their live performances which had earned them their following on the back of a relocation to Brighton in 2006. Whilst original they may not be, the band don’t claim to be reinventing the wheel. I think we can forgive them on the grounds of the above single.
